Review: It seems like you can’t turn around these days without seeing a little girl in a frozen outfit, and this bag is the new must have accessory. The girls have been having a lot of fun with it, changing the colour of the bag to match their outfits – or the rug, or the table, or pretty much everything and everything they can spot that is colourful!
The coloured lights on the front of the bag change to match the colour behind the bag, using sensors on the back of the bag to measure the colour of your child’s outfit. The claim is that there are 100 colours it will match, and we have certainly seen a few shades of each of these: red, pink, blue, green, orange and purple. The bag has an on/off switch on the inside of the bag, and a panel to change the batteries.
It struggles a little with dark colours – as it uses leds to light up, it obviously can only reproduce lighter versions of all the colours, and when faced with a darker shade it get confused. The other issue with this is that on a bright day or in a light room you can’t really see the colour very well – but indoors if it’s not too bright you are fine. Unfortunately you can’t actually fit a lot into the bag – it’s not the most practical option ever.
We were challenged to have a magic moment with our frozen bag, and the girls were really excited to take it along to a friend’s Frozen birthday party. It was a great match to their outfits, and by changing the colour on the bag to match their outfit, depending on who’s turn it was to have the bed, it was the perfect match. As you can see from the photos they had a great time!
The girls love this bag, despite it’s negatives. Lydia has gotten a bit frustrated now and then when it won’t match the colour as well as she’d like, though – and it’s not always easy to see the colour. 3 stars.
